Isle of Man

The rules on third party funding are similar to those of England and Wales.

Although there is little case-law, it is suggested that an Isle of Man court would take the view that litigation funding facilitates access to justice and is not champertous. In Tomlinson v. Thane Investments Ltd and others [2002], the court ruled that the name of the third party funder be disclosed. The court can also order the disclosure of the basis and conditions of such funding.
