Leading practitioners consider future trends in litigation funding

9 February 2015

An article from The Lawyer today poses questions on litigation funding to a panel of leading litigation and arbitration practitioners from Addleshaw Goddard, Stewarts Law, Cooke Young & Keidan and CMS Cameron McKenna.

The panel considers the past, present and future of the litigation funding industry, and also looks at the impact on the industry of Excalibur, Coventry v Lawrence and increased court fees, concluding that the impact on reputable and experienced litigation funders will be minimal.

The pervading opinion is that the litigation funding market is growing and will continue to grow, attracting more sophisticated clients who wish to remove litigation and arbitration risk from the balance sheet.
