An Introduction to Litigation Funding

11 April 2024

Please join Susan Dunn and Maurice MacSweeney as they explain how lawyers can use funding for their clients’ cases and to support the growth of their firm.

May 13th, 12:30pm

Getting a litigation funder to support a case may seem like a daunting task but in reality there’s no great mystery to how they review cases and how funding works. This free online training session will explore some “nuts and bolts” issues, and will also look at the growth of portfolio funding which law firms can use to mitigate the risk of offering CFAs and DBAs to their clients, and to obtain funding for lower value claims.
The webinar will last approximately 30 minutes followed by time for any questions the audience would like to ask.

Susan Dunn and Maurice MacSweeney will cover:

    • What do litigation funders actually do?
    • How can litigation funding benefit my firm and my clients?
    • What makes an investible case?
    • What information does a law firm need to provide to a funder?
    • How does the decision-making process work, and how long does it take?
    • How does portfolio funding work, and how can I use it to support my firm’s growth?
    • How much does litigation funding cost?

This webinar would be a helpful introduction to litigation funding and will be most relevant to solicitors, barristers and in-house counsel. The webinar will last approximately 30 minutes followed by time for questions.
